Put yer hand on the TV and HEEEEALLLLLL!!! Or not...

As some of you may know, I have a vast archive of media...movies, TV, music, comics. In this era of declining entertainment quality via TV, where 20 minutes of every hour of dubious programming is filled with equally dubious advertising, you can still get some good content via the internets...notably Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Crackle. Crackle is free, and a good chunk of Hulu is free. Netflix is $8 a month while Amazon Prime is $75 a year, but that also includes free shipping on thousands of items, from groceries to gadgets to media.

Yes, we Americans tend to spend way too much time on entertainment, but at the same time, it's a catharsis from the two jobs most of us have (sometimes 3) just to cover the rent. Cable TV was wise to bundle internet and phone with TV as TV has become the wasteland it was predicted to be many years ago. Exceptions are PBS and a few cable channels devoted to quality scripted entertainment with substance (yes, you know I am going to cite USA).

TV is gradually being replaced by internet derived media. Crackle and Netflix are leading the charge with content exclusive to their channels. Amazon has a couple of shows (Alphas & Betas), and people are creating their own shows on youtube and ustream.

Maybe yours truly will start a classic science fiction channel, if I can just work out the sponsors and rights issues. The revolution is here, folks, and it's on the [Al Gore accent] INNERNAYETS!
