It's not enough that a young soldier gets rescued based on a common procedure of prisoner exchange which has been going on for decades, the party of the stupid has to resort to inane rhetoric to vilify him and even his family for being a POW of the Afghanistan war.
Galactic irony #42768: the Faux Noise channel's ire against Bowe Bergdahl's dad's beard. "His son is out now, so doesn't he have any razors?" I could ask that same question about the Wrong Wing's beloved Duck Dynasty folks, who, before their fake reality show was pitched, all were clean shaven and looked like lily white golfers.
Bill O'Reilly, the bloviating buffoon with anger management issues, said Bergdahl's dad looked like a Muslim. Since when is that even an issue?
What happened to the military's sacred promise of "no man (or woman) left behind?"
Let's look at it from a logical (oops, that's a naughty word among non-thinkers) point of view. If, as it is claimed by the wrong wing, that Bowe Bergdahl was a deserter, wouldn't it be prudent to try him in a US court (Court Martial)? And what happened to any investigations 5 years ago when he was captured by the Taliban? Now, suddenly, there's an Army investigation and the media is having a field day 'swiftboating' this soldier and he hasn't even come home yet. Where's the due process?
The guy can't even defend himself as while he's being debriefed in a military hospital, the corporate controlled media has already decided and convicted Bowe Bergdahl as a traitor.
The underlying problem here that nobody addresses is this country's love affair with war and sending a completely voluntary force into battles concocted by cowardly, evil men and when a president is trying to shut down those wars and govern from a more solution based policy, he's labeled weak...ironically by those who should be tried for war crimes.
I don't know about you, but I am tired of seeing our soldiers go through literal hell fighting wars designed by men who would run away in a firefight, and then getting raked over the coals (in more ways than one) when they come back.
It's about time we build instead of destroy. Let's become a nation that creates things, not a nation that destroys everything, including itself. Remember when we led the world in everything? I do. It wasn't that long ago...but that memory is fading.
Be cool, be nobody's fool; and don't dismiss the bliss.
